AUDITIONS for Into the Woods, JR
The cast of Into the Woods, JR will portray fairy tale characters from the Brothers Grimm, singing music from Broadway great Stephen Sondheim!
CAST SIZE: ETC is casting 21 performers in our production of Into the Woods JR. We’re looking for creative, energetic, and dedicated cast members.
AGES: Auditions are open to performers ages 11-19 ( entering 6th- finishing 12th grade). Hopefuls must be turning 11 by June 1, 2026.

from 1:00-6:00PM
Performance Dates:
Thursday, July 23
Friday, July 24
Saturday, July 25
Performance times 5:00-9:00PM
(Rain date Sunday, July 26 in the afternoon)

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
Hopefuls will prepare a SONG and a MONOLOGUE. There will be no dance audition for Into the Woods, JR.
VOCAL AUDITION:
- Prepare a MUSICAL THEATRE SONG that shows both your vocal and acting abilities.
- Songs from Into the Woods, JR that are good choices (LINKS lead to YouTube versions)
- “Stay with Me” (RAPUNZEL)
- “Steps of the Palace” (CINDERELLA)
- “Giants in the Sky” (JACK)
- “Agony” (THE PRINCES)
- Hopefuls must bring a paper copy of the music for their song in the correct key. Your paper copy of the music must lay flat on the music stand for our accompanist (loose pages, not bound copies).
- There is no bar or time limit, but 1-2 minutes is a good length. Production staff may stop hopefuls once they’ve heard a sufficient amount.
MONOLOGUE AUDITION:
- Prepare a short MONOLOGUE from Into the Woods or another (similar) musical or play of your choice.
- The monologue should be no longer than 1 minute.
Hopefuls may also be asked to perform cold readings from the script.
